Meet Detlev Gessner

Detlev Gessner has over 30 years of Operations Management and Business Development experience in the Salon and Spa Industry-in both Germany and the United States. He received his Master of Business with an Industry focus in Hair Dressing and Entrepreneurship.
Gessner continuously applies his Industry expertise and keen Business sense to create numerous successful enterprises. Among his accomplishments, in 2001 he launched his Florida Detlev Salon and Sales skyrocketed from $0 to $1.5 million in Services and $400,000 in Retail.
He also set up the “Living Spa” in Taos, New Mexico at El Monte Sagrado – http://www.elmontesagrado.com/spa/spa.asp – building and developing this Consulting Project into a multi-million dollar turn-key Operation.
Due to his extensive expertise, high-profile Clients seek out Detlev’s Services. His clientele included Tipper Gore, Hillary Clinton, Sally Jesse Raphael, Nestor Torres, and Liz Reyes.

Detlev’s Story
Born in Berlin then “West-Berlin”) he grew up for the first 2 1/2 years of his life with his Mother. Visiting his Grand-Parents (then in the former East-Germany) the Wall went up over night. So he spend the next 10 years with his Grand-Parents in the communist part of Germany. In 1972 due to an agreements the 4 Allies signed, Detlev was re-united with his Mother and his Brother.
His Mother passed away when he was 21. He had a Brother and a step-sister who were 11 and 9 at this time, no relatives, he was living now in West-Berlin ( then). All his family was living in East Germany. He got sole custody of his siblings and I raised them by himself.
Detlev : “This was the best experience I ever had.”
Did this form him as a human being? … you bet…
Because of that experience, He never looks at the glass half empty.
He believes that you can do what you put your mind to.
He and his partner are proud parents 2 boys. Both are very special people. He likes to create awareness for AUTISM, since his younger son has Autism.
Now, how does this make him unique as a coach and consultant.
